It’s always recommended that everyone has a smoke alarm in their house, so that should a fire occur, you can get out of your house safely. What many people don’t know is that if you burn solid fuel, it’s a requirement to have a carbon monoxide detector in the same room, unless you’re in Scotland where it’s a requirement to have one with any gas or solid fuel appliance.

There are many varieties of these alarms sold, but we recommend the brand SleepSafe.
