What should I get for my room, a Gas or Electric Fire?
This is a common question we are asked.
The main reason for buying an Electric Fire is because you only require occasional heat. An Electric Fire can look good without the heat on. It can be thought of as another source of light. A beautiful feature.
So if you have a warm house and you hardly ever use your old fire then maybe Electric Fires are for you. They still give 1.5 -2kw of heat which is very good. So if you need a boost on a chilly evening or a top-up in winter they are perfect.
If you require heat on a daily basis from your Fire then you are better off with a Gas Fire or a Wood Burner.
All modern Electric Fires are fan assisted convectors and although they are very quiet these days there is still some noise. They heat a room very quickly as the fan circulates the heat. But when you switch off the Fire the room cools quicker than with Gas Fires or Wood Burners.
